Bonneville Salt Flats

Seriously, other worldly. If you are ever in Salt Lake City, I highly recommend making the drive out to Bonneville Salt Flats. There will definitely be more photos from this epic engagement session soon. Pro tip: be sure to bring water with you. There is a gas station near Bonneville but it does tend to get pretty hot there. Also, be careful to look for cars racing.

Moab, Utah

Arches National Park

Jaw dropping. I was incredibly excited to visit Moab. I was actually pretty surprised with how many shops and restaurants there are in Moab. We only had one day in Moab so we tried to pack in as much as we could in a short amount of time. First, we had lunch at Moab Garage Co which did not disappoint. Then we headed inside Arches for a couple quick hikes. We first hiked Double Arch then we did the short Delicate Arch hike. Honestly, I wish we had more time and it wasn’t 100+ degrees outside or we would have done a few more hikes. However, it was pretty dang hot for the kids. Thankfully, you can see most of Arches National Park by driving through.

Pro tip: Go to Moab Coffee Roasters. If you get an iced coffee/latte, they use coffee ice cubes which helps not water down your coffee. You can thank me later! Warning though the line does tend to be pretty darn long but it is worth it.

Moab Jeep Adventures

Okay, hands down, this was one of the most epic adventures we have ever been on. I scheduled the Hell’s Revenge Sunset Tour with Outlaw Jeep Adventures and it was SO much dang fun. We had no idea what to expect but it did not disappoint. I was somewhat nervous about how Penelope and Theodore would do but they both did so well. Theodore actually fell asleep half way through the tour which was pretty surprising. If you have the chance to book a tour, I highly recommend Outlaw Jeep Adventures. The tour guides are knowledgeable, personable, and you definitely feel safe. Our tour guide, Sam R., did an excellent job making sure our kids felt comfortable and talked us through some of the sketchy spots.

Garden of the Gods

Colorado Springs, CO

We randomly added Garden of the Gods to our itinerary and I’m so glad we did. It was such a beautiful area. The only downside was it was SO packed. There we so many spots we wanted to stop to park to hike around but the parking lots were completely packed. We were able to do one small hike where we got lucky and found parking. If you are going to Garden of the Gods, I highly recommend getting there early.

Pro tips: Do not forget to stop at Dutch Bros Coffee either on your way or out of Garden of the God!

Denver, CO

We spent a few days in Denver/Littleton. The first day we explored Red Rocks Amphitheater. If you are anywhere near the amphitheater, I highly recommend you give it a visit. There are several different hiking areas plus you can walk around the amphitheater. Be careful for rattlesnakes though! We were greeted by a baby rattler at the end of one of our hikes.

The next day we spent exploring the Rhino District in Denver. We had lunch at a beer garden then epic donuts. We couldn’t leave Denver though without trying Little Man’s Ice Cream. A few different locals told us that it was a must try and they were right. I think the pictures speak for themselves. I will say that the line does tend to be pretty lengthy. However, it does seem like it usually goes pretty fast. We only waited in line for approximately 5 minutes.
