what made m+t choose KAP as their wedding photographer:
“We wanted a warm-er aesthetic with an emphasis on candid’s while avoiding “light and airy” aesthetic, “dark and moody” aesthetic, with an emphasis on model/moody shots. Your aesthetic is what first gravitated me to you!! I was literally searching different hashtags on Instagram (#dfwphotographer, #dfwweddingphotographer, literally every hashtag LOL) and was instantly drawn to your style!! Then, the inclusivity of your packages! No worry about hours, included engagement session, album offerings. Lastly, your overall attitude! We loved your positivity, prioritization of your couples, and how you commanded the room in getting our photos.”
m+t advice to wedding planning couples:
Book your vendors early and don’t overthink it! Except maybe you photographer – really think about that one 😉
Get an envelope sealing glue stick to help with sending invitations.
Google sheets/docs/drive is your best friend when sharing wedding info with your fiancé.
If you’re considering a long veil, look into veil weights!! I didn’t hear about these until after my wedding and I was so bummed! They’re basically fancy brooches that pin to the bottom of your veil to keep it from flying up. I could have really used those on our windy day, LOL!
Coordinate a private snack moment after cocktail hour and before your grand entrance. You will be hungry!! Along the same lines, coordinate snacks after your grand exit/at where you’re staying the night. You will be very very hungry!!
If you’re having buffet-style dinner, say hello to all of your guests as they line up to get food! We loved doing it this way because everyone essentially came to us and we got a quick moment with everyone.
favorite feature of m+t’s spring garden wedding at Texas Discovery Gardens:
Can we just take a look at their florals and seating chart? AMAZING. Shannon with Gardenia Event Studio absolutely nailed the florals. The bride hand painted and wrote the seating chart herself. It was like Pinterest came to life.
While creating M+T’s timeline, M mentioned caring so much about their portraits but also wanting to enjoy their reception. We created a timeline to ensure both happened. One thing they did that I wish other couples would is they had an extended cocktail hour so we didn’t have to leave the reception once it started.
Baldo’s Ice Cream for dessert. Enough said. Delicious.
M+T are one of the most genuine, kind, and loving couples I have ever met. It was no surprise that their loved ones were also just as genuine and kind. They showed up to celebrate M+T and kept their dance floor lit ALL. NIGHT. LONG. I haven’t seen a dance party like theirs in such a long time. It also helped their DJ was A+.
