I knew from the very first email from the groom’s mom, Debbie, that the Hurley’s Twin Oaks Golf Course wedding was going to be one for the books. Her email said:
“I wish I can tell you how much this wedding is a blessing. I have prayed for my son since he was a young child. Then my best friend joined in and together asked God for a helpmate for my son for over 2 decades. And I asked for someone who loved God as much as he does. To make a long story short they met last year and Sandra told me that her mother has also been praying for her future husband for years. Sandra only came to this country from Egypt approximately 3 yrs ago. I am so thankful for these two to be married. It is truly an answer to years of prayer. So you have been chosen to capture this day that has been prayed for many years in the making.”
I mean, insert all the crying heart eye emojis!!!! As a mother, I was instantly hooked. I was overjoyed to capture the Hurley’s wedding at Twin Oaks Golf Course. It was such an honor to be able to capture the joining of two family’s that have prayed for one another.
Then, I talked to Sandra to finalize their wedding day timeline. Sandra kept telling me that the most important photos was to capture the reactions and the moment’s unfold. After than, I knew the stars aligned. As a photographer who takes a story telling approach to wedding days, I was overly excited. Then, she continued to tell me about the strong bond shared between herself and her mom. Guys, you must see the photos of Sandra and her mom. I can only hope one day share the same type of special bond with my daughter. Tears filled my eyes as Ruth, Sandra’s mom, helped Sandra get dressed with tears running down her cheeks. You truly could feel the unbreakable bond and love between them.
