Originally when planning Victoria + Larry engagement session, we talked about heading to Malibu for the beautiful beaches and open fields. However, V+L felt like it was more them to go back to their roots. In the end, we ended up exploring Silverlake and then heading to a (somewhat sketchy) over look to see the Los Angeles skyline.

Victoria mentioned wanting to utilize the streets of Silverlake, a palm-tree lined street, and views of downtown LA. Since I’m not overly familiar with Los Angeles, I scoured the internet for inspiration and location ideas. Then I arrived early to find some locations that I thought would be the perfect backdrop for their engagement session. And, boy did my research deliver. Honestly, it was perfect. It fit their personalities and vibe as a couple absolutely perfectly.

We spent hours together just exploring, stopping at random areas that complemented their unique outfits. We literally soaked in every single ounce of light during their engagement session. I felt so inspired during and after their session. It was a great reminder that while gorgeous scenic locations are great, if that doesn’t feel like “you” as a couple, don’t be afraid to think outside the box for your engagement photos.
