I knew from the very moment I spoke to V about V+L’s summer wedding in Santa Ynez it would be a party. It would also be completely unique to V+L. And, boy was I right. However, I’ll be honest I was *kind of* nervous when they first told me that their wedding ceremony would be at 2pm under a beautiful Oak Tree in a completely open field. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it until I die — as a wedding photographer you HAVE to be able to make magic no matter the time of day. Was it difficult? You bet ya. Did we make magic? You be the judge of that 😉

Pro tip when hiring a wedding photographer: be sure to see how they utilize light in ALL different conditions. You’ll thank me later!

Favorite feature of V+L’s Bohemian Santa Ynez Wedding:

V+L’s ceremony was on Native American land under a giant oak tree that was special to L’s family.

Their wedding party was absolutely MASSIVE but so much dang fun. During their photos we fed off that energy and had a dance party. The mix-matched suits and dresses was also such a fun touch.

L said that he was most excited about the dance party. I haven’t seen such a lit dance floor before. V+L’s crowd came to party and it was so much dang fun. Plus, V’s outfit change — ON FREAKING POINT.

Their florals. Do you blame me?! They were perfect for their summer Boho garden wedding. The florals totally transformed the rooftop deck reception space.

Lastly, V+L made their day authentic to them. They added personal touches such as sage bundles as favors and L’s cousin singing for their first dance.
