However, what truly makes your engagement session stand out is the energy and vibes you bring to it.
If you’re in search of an engagement session that’s all about genuine emotions and authentic connections, you’ve come to the right place. As a documentary wedding photographer, my focus is on preserving your love story as it unfolds naturally.
Photographers can only photograph what is happening in front of them. This is why your willingness to bring the energy is the secret ingredient to success.
Setting the Scene – White Rock Lake’s Natural Beauty

Documentary Photography Unveiled
What even is documentary wedding photography? Documentary wedding photography is all about authenticity and telling your unique love story. I believe in capturing real emotions and genuine connections, rather than staging moments. However, while I aim to capture unscripted moments, I also understand that sometimes a little guidance can help couples feel at ease. As your photographer, I’m here to provide subtle direction and direction, all while letting your genuine connection shine through.
One of the most sought-after styles for engagement sessions is capturing candid, joyful moments. To achieve this, just like L+T did during their White Rock Lake engagement session, it’s essential for you as a couple to embrace the energy of the moment. Be willing to get silly together, share laughs, and have fun during your session. Your willingness to let go and be yourselves is the key to capturing those sweet, unfiltered moments of love.
Collaboration is Key: Working with Your Photographer
Regardless of your chosen style (playful, sweet and romantic, or moody, cinematic and editorial), collaboration with your photographer is paramount. This allows me to guide you in bringing out the desired energy and mood for your engagement photos. Share your vision, be open to their suggestions, and trust their expertise. The synergy between you and your photographer will be the secret ingredient to capturing breathtaking moments at White Rock Lake. This is why I continuously preach about finding the perfect photographer for you.
Your White Rock Lake engagement photos can be a reflection of your unique love story, filled with candid joy or moody elegance, depending on the energy you bring to the session. about the couple: L+T
L+T began as friends, meeting at a mutual friends birthday party in 2018. After a few months and a few encounters, T mustered up some liquid courage and asked L out via facetime Halloween weekend. L was living/working as a flight attendant in Austin at the time, so she flew out the following weekend to San Diego for a sushi date, and the rest was history. It didn’t take long for these two to fall in love, becoming absolute best friends along the way.
L+T described their relationship as Passionate, silly and tender which I definitely believe we captured during their White Rock Lake engagement session.
They share a mutual love for the outdoors; spending much of their free weekends hiking and exploring, when they aren’t enjoying life with friends and family. This lead T to the idea for the proposal: a sunset hike up to Cathedral Rock in Sedona, AZ. We took the trip with their two best friends, as well as L’s older sister and brother in law. After she said yes, they got to enjoy the whole lovers weekend with the people they love the most, enjoying good food, good wine, and amazing scenery.
