When planning S+D’s engagement session, they mentioned wanting to include the iconic Dallas skyline as they recently moved here from Oklahoma. As soon as they mentioned that, I knew exactly where we should go for their downtown Dallas engagement session. We utilized 3 different iconic Downtown Dallas locations – The Adolphus, Winspear Opera House, and Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. No gate keeping here.
Each one of these downtown Dallas locations offers a different vibe. The classic black and white aesthetic at the Adolphus with ornate architecture and the energy of the downtown Dallas traffic. Then at Winspear Opera House, the modern glass building with a reflection pool with views of the well known blue glass buildings; the Towers of Dallas. Then finally ending at Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge with the Dallas night skyline lit up behind them.
However, the real star of this Downtown Dallas Engagement session is S+D themselves. These two came dressed to impressed and brought the 🔥🔥🔥. They didn’t let the wind stop them from completely SLAYING their session. And, while yes, these two are absolutely stunning, they were also so much fun to explore downtown Dallas with.

about the couple: S+D
D’s version aka “the short version”:
“We met on Bumble, then took her on a proper date, went to Broken Bow, after that they knew there was something deeper. Then, COVID hit and we bonded over quarantine, started taking S on more and more trips. After COVID, S gets a new time consuming job, and D’s work ramps up as well. So, the relationship continues to grow into a more normal situation. After about a year, football is over and D knows this is who he wants to spend his life with. So D buys a house for them in Dallas, buys a ring, and proposes in the new house. Then, because they weren’t busy enough or spent enough money they start planning their wedding. The end.”
S’s way-too-lengthy version (her words – not mine):
“D and I first matched on Bumble back in 2019. I wish I could remember more about his profile but I remember seeing cute, tall, athletic, and a blue verification check mark to let me know this cute tall football player was a real person and not some catfish. So I swiped right, we matched, and I messaged him with an oh-so creative, original, well thought out “Hey D 😍.”
For our first *official* date, we went to Packard’s in OKC. We took our relationship slow at first. The biggest thing that really had us wondering if we could end up together is his uncertainty of the future. D is a former Quarterback at the University of Alabama and at the time he was training to try and break into the NFL. He was working with an agent, traveling, going to official workouts for various teams. Because of this, we had to always keep in the back of our minds that he could sign with a team and have to leave at any moment.
We went on dates, traveled together, and met each other’s friends. We just had fun together and found that it was so easy to talk to each other. It was a breath of fresh air. Fast forward a couple of months to when we took a trip to Broken Bow with who would end up being his Best Man and his Best Man’s at-the-time love interest. After a few too many drinks in the hot tub, I decided to get bold and tell D that I loved him for the first time. I somehow saved us in that moment by sensing his distress and saying something along the lines of, “I’m just kidding. I don’t even like you. You’re, like, not even that great.”
Anyways, we continued on with our relationship and not too long after that was when the world shut down for COVD-19. But this is ultimately, I think, what helped us to get closer and to get to know each other even better. Nothing like government mandated lockdowns to help you to get to know each other!
Our timeline is blurry at this point, but somewhere in all of this, D decides to hang up his cleats and quit football, focuses on the hustle and grind of the stock market, and falls deeply in love with me and decides he wants me forever. This takes us to December 2021. At this point, we decide we want to move to Dallas. On December 30th, we closed on our first home together. A dreamy townhome near Uptown Dallas with big beautiful windows. And it was in front of one of those on that very same day that D got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.”
This gorgeous couple will exchanging vows with their nearest and dearest at Hillside Estate; a stunning French inspired luxury wedding venue! I seriously cannot wait to see everything they’ve put into making their wedding day a reality. There’s no doubt it will be stunning.
