SUNSET CLIFFS INTIMATE WEDDING PHOTOS
THE DIAZ’S BEST SUNSET CLIFFS WEDDING PHOTOS
This Sunset Cliffs Intimate Wedding in La Jolla, San Diego was just as non-traditional as Raquel and Ryan. On a gloomy Tuesday afternoon, I pulled into a parking lot right next to Sunset Cliffs overlooking the vast San Diego ocean. Typically, when I arrive to a wedding I greet my bride, give her a huge hug, and start documenting her getting ready. This time, I met Ryan’s mom and his brother. Minutes later I was helping them set up the guests chairs and the ceremony site. As more guests started to arrive, all hands were on deck helping finishing the ceremony site before Raquel arrived. As the saying goes, it really does take a village.
Ryan and Raquel met years ago while working together. They started off as friends and slowly fell into a relationship. Both admitted their relationship isn’t “traditional” in any sense. They have two absolutely beautiful daughters that you can tell mean the world to them. Seeing Ryan with his girls was absolutely heartwarming. And, on their NINTH anniversary they officially said “I do” in front of their closest family and friends.
Their story hit home. It reminded me of my own “nontraditional” love story. From being Paul’s boss (okay so I still am) to breaking up. Then, getting back together to having Penelope and then getting married. We may have started “nontraditional” but for us…and for them…it works. Because honestly, what is traditional? Everyone’s story is unique. No two love stories are the same. And that is OKAY! What may work for some, may not work for others. These two may have had an unconventional start to their relationship but they’ve made it work. They’ve put in so much time and effort and guess what? It has paid off. And, I am so glad (and honored) I was in attendance of their 40-ish intimate Sunset Cliffs wedding.
