Engagement + Couples

July 22, 2024

Recently, I had the privilege of capturing Quan’s surprise Dallas Arboretum proposal to his girlfriend, Becca, in the arboretum’s Sunken Garden. This secluded garden provided the perfect setting for a heartfelt and romantic moment.  The Dallas Arboretum serves as a backdrop for countless romantic moments from proposals to weddings. The Arboretum is the crown jewel in the heart of the city, offering a breathtaking escape into a world of vibrant blooms, manicured gardens, and tranquil ponds.

Why the Dallas Arboretum is the Perfect Proposal Location:

When it comes to planning the perfect proposal, the location can make all the difference.  Here is why we believe The Dallas Arboretum is a fantastic place to propose in Dallas:

Natural Beauty + Variety

The Dallas Arboretum is renowned for its breathtaking gardens, lush landscapes, and serene atmosphere. With 66 acres of beautifully maintained gardens, it offers a wide variety of picturesque locations for a proposal. Certain areas of the arboretum offer pockets of privacy, ideal for a more intimate proposal experience. The Sunken Garden, in particular, provides an intimate and secluded setting, surrounded by vibrant flowers and manicured greenery, making it an ideal spot for such a special moment.

Romantic Atmosphere

The Arboretum’s romantic ambiance is unparalleled. Whether you’re strolling through the vibrant seasonal displays or taking in the views of White Rock Lake, the Dallas Arboretum exudes romance. The Sunken Garden, with its enchanting pathways and charming fountains, adds an extra touch of magic to any proposal.

Year-Round Beauty

One of the best things about the Dallas Arboretum is its year-round beauty. No matter the season, the gardens are always in bloom with something spectacular to see. This makes it easy to plan a proposal at any time of the year, knowing that the surroundings will be picture-perfect.

Tips for Planning a Proposal at the Dallas Arboretum

Choose the Right Spot

With so many beautiful locations within the Arboretum, it’s important to choose the one that best suits your vision. The Sunken Garden, with its intimate setting, is perfect for a private proposal, while other areas like the Rose Garden or the A Woman’s Garden offer equally stunning options.

Plan Ahead

The Dallas Arboretum is a popular destination, so it’s a good idea to plan your proposal in advance. Consider the time of day for the best lighting and to avoid crowds. Early mornings or as close to closing are often ideal. If privacy is important to you, weekdays tend to be best, as well.

Consider the Season

While the Arboretum is beautiful year-round, different seasons offer different experiences. Spring and fall are particularly popular for their vibrant blooms and pleasant weather. Be sure to check the Arboretum’s calendar for any special events or displays that might enhance your proposal.
